Welcome back to school!
Welcome back! I am sure summer went too fast for most of you! As you know, I am adding several courses to my schedule this year. We're going to have fun learning to manipulate text and graphics, take awesome photos, design websites, create a yearbook, and learn many different software applications in these classes. I love to teach and explore new technology. Let's learn!
 
Desktop Publishing 2nd Period
This course is designed for students who wish to learn how to create a variety of business publications such as flyers, brochures, newsletters, etc. Students develop proficiency in using graphic arts/desktop publishing software. Students will create a Prek-12 yearbook as the culminating project for this course.
Multimedia 3rd Period
Let's take digital pictures and do cool stuff! What say you!? Students will work with multimedia software to develop electronic presentations.  They will learn how to manipulate text, art and graphics, photography, animation, audio, and video for presentations in various media formats. Students will operate a printing business while enrolled in this course.
 

 Computer Applications I&II

6th Period

This course is designed for students who wish to learn more about computer business applications using Microsoft Office 2007. Students will have an opportunity to gain the basic skills necessary for employment in any business-related environment. They will learn the techniques and receive training on equipment/software used in many businesses today. Students will learn to use the computer for advanced word processing, database, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, and other applications.

 e-Business

7th Period/1st Semester   

This course provides students skills in the design, construction, publishing, promotion, and maintenance of Web sites used for conducting business electronically.  In addition to Web site development, the student will identify benefits, costs, and issues related to doing business online.  This course is designed to focus on more than just selling and purchasing goods and services online.  It addresses the impact of all electronic business processes and their roles in improving customer service, increasing revenue, lowering costs, and managing resources.  It provides opportunities for students to develop and apply real-world skills such as problem solving, teamwork, research, and initiative.

Web Design 7th Period/2nd Semester
This course will focus on the design aspect of website development, including evaluating sites for design elements, creating sites using HTML, CSS, and Dreamweaver, and using advanced features on sites, including utilizing Flash.
