Information about our Library

Clarksburg Elementary School library, which serves a student population of approximately 120, is staffed by a full-time certified Library Media Specialist. A combination of fixed scheduling and flexible scheduling is used.

The library is networked with full Internet access via a T1 line. Over 20 computers, both Windows and Macintosh, are available for individual or full-class use.

The library is fully automated with Alexandria cataloging and circulation system. Accelerated Reader reading motivation program is used school-wide, and testing and student reading records may be accessed from the library or any computer throughout the building.

The new library was build and opened during the 2008-2009 school year.  It houses over 6,000 books, 300 videotapes, and a selection of other media. The library subscribes to 20 magazines, 10 professional periodicals, a daily newspaper, and 2 weekly newspapers.

Other library resources include TVs and VCRs, DVD players, two color scanners, a color copier, an interactive whiteboard (SmartBoard) and two digital cameras. Access to satellite television is available through DirecTV School programming.
