FTA

Future Teachers of America

General

The FTA chapter is designed to provide maximum participation of students who indicate an interest in education, either as a process or a career.  Planning and initiating activities is the responsibility of elected FTA officers and qualified educators serving as advisors.  Chapters provide activities for members that are consistent with the two basic purposes of FTA: student involvement and career exploration.

As members of the FTA chapter, students must maintain good attendance and not have any major disciplinary problems as stated in the handbook.  Loss of membership can also occur based on multiple minor disciplinary problems.  Members are representative of possible future educators, and must display good citizenship at all times.
