LIBRARY

The Doniphan High School Library is staffed by Mrs. Schlief. She has several high school aides that help keep the library in order. She's been the library aide at DHS for six years and she states that "It's the best job I've ever had!" Mrs. Schlief loves to work with the teens here...especially helping them find research materials and books that interest them-even the short books! "We have good kids and an excellent staff." says Mrs. Schlief.
The DHS library has over 9,000 books and 85 different magazines. It also has subscriptions to 4 different newspapers: The Prospect News, The Daily Republic, USA Today, and the St. Louis Post Dispatch. The library has been fully automated with the Winnebago Spectrum System, complete with two electronic card catalogs and 10 computers for student use. Research may be done on the internet and on the EBSCO electronic database.
Mrs. Schlief has been married to Lowell Schlief for twenty-six years and has four children: Kerrie, Katie, Ryan, and Marc. She was born in Memphis, TN and moved to Doniphan in 1969 where she graduated from DHS in 1974. Thereafter, she enrolled in TRCC in 1976, and earned a degree in Dental Assisting.
