Mrs. Hastings

This is Mrs. Hastings first year teaching at DHS. She currently teaches English I & II

and is our senior class sponsor . Her other work experiences include

being a hairstylist and owning her own beauty salon called Polly's Salon of Beauty.

Pollys hobbies and interests include reading, making her own jewelry, and other

types of crafts. She also enjoys home remodeling and simply spending time with

her grandchildren. Even though Polly has been teaching here for only a year, she still

has good memories of teaching. She has really enjoyed helping with the Christmas

door decorations. Polly has been married to Ray Joe Hastings for 18 years. Pollys

children include Dr. Loren Smothers, Danny Smothers, Sandy McCoy, Raymond Hastings,

Nancy Yates, Tina St. Laurent and Lorna Hasings. Before teaching at DHS she attended

TRCC and SEMO to get her Associates Art and attended Passel State Praxis Education to earn her

Certification in English.
