Fine Arts

Fine Arts is a part of life and culture.  It is important that Fine Arts become an integral part of the learning process for all students.  Since students appear to have an innate need for expression, participation in the Fine Arts program will allow the students the opportunity to experience the process of creation.  It enhances his or her ability to make critical judgments and reasoned choices.  In visual arts, the students will use a wide variety of media, techniques, and materials to solve problems in creativity by using ingenuity, awareness, and perceptual thinking.  Students will develop creative depression, aesthetics, cultural heritage, vocation career choices in art, and art appreciation.  In the area of music, students again express their individuality and enhance their musical talents to the fullest.  The mechanics of music are learned as well as an appreciation of the role that music provides in giving an enhanced quality of life.

In order to graduate, a student must earn one Fine Art credit.  The courses that meet this requirement are:

Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, High School Band, Jazz Band

Beginning Choir, Advanced Choir, Women's Choir

Art I, Art II

Drama I, Drama II, Drama III
