AAA Performance Incentive Program
STUDENT
CONTRACT FOR AAA PERFORMANCE PARTICIPATION
Student financial incentives will be available for the
two (2) year period immediately following high school graduation of the class
in May. To be eligible, each student
must enter into a written agreement with the Van Buren R-l School District
during the first semester of his/her sophomore year, and meet the following
criteria upon graduation:
1.
attend Van Buren High School for three (3) consecutive years prior to
graduation
2. graduate with a 7.00 (without rounding) or higher cumulative (3 years) grade point average on an eleven (11) point scale
3. average at least a (95%) ninety-five percent (without rounding) attendance record for the three (3) year period
4.
perform fifty (50) hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring for younger students
5. maintain a record of "good citizenship" and avoidance of unlawful use of drugs and alcohol as determined by school administration
6. document good faith efforts to secure all available federal, state, and institutional post-secondary student financial assistance funds that do not require repayment
Upon successful completion of the above criteria the
Van Buren R- 1 School District agrees to pay to Three
Rivers Community College, on behalf of each qualifying
student, the unpaid balance of the cost of tuition, required textbooks, and
fees after all post-secondary student financial assistance funds have been
applied. The Van Buren R-l School
District also agrees to reimburse to each qualifying student (after July 1 of
his/her year of graduation from Van Buren High School) the cost (tuition only)
of any Three Rivers Community College course taken while in high school in
which the student made a grade of "C" or better.
To maintain eligibility after high school graduation,
each student participating in the AAA Performance Incentive Program must during
the (2) two-year period of incentive availability:
1.
enroll in Three Rivers Community College and attend on a full-time basis per
TRCC policy
2. maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a four (4) point scale (Students falling below the 2.5 cumulative GPA will lose the incentive until such time as their cumulative GPA reaches 2.5 again)
